What are your opening hours?
Our inspection centre is open Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. If you need an inspection, we recommend booking ahead to secure your preferred time.
Where is VTQ located?
VTQ is conveniently located at 5/915 Nudgee Road, Banyo QLD 4014, making us easily accessible for customers across Brisbane and surrounding areas.
What is a Queensland vehicle safety certificate?
A safety certificate (roadworthy certificate) is an official document that proves your vehicle meets the Queensland Government’s minimum safety standards. You will need this when you sell or register a vehicle. Getting your safety certificate helps make the roads safer for you and other drivers.
What happens if my vehicle fails?
If your vehicle doesn’t pass, we’ll give you a clear, honest report detailing exactly what needs to be fixed. Because we’re independent – with no repair shop attached – our advice is completely unbiased. Once repairs are done elsewhere, bring it back for a re-inspection.
What do I need to bring with me?
Just bring your vehicle and your driver’s licence. If your vehicle is unregistered, you’ll also need to arrange a permit to drive to us. For rideshare COIs, bring your rideshare operator details. That’s it – we handle the rest.
Are you an authorised inspection station (AIS)?
Yes. VTQ is a fully accredited Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) under Queensland’s Transport and Main Roads (TMR). We are Queensland’s only privately owned independent AIS – meaning no repair shop, no referral fees, and no conflict of interest.
