How it works
Our services
Vehicle registration
You’ll need to apply for car or trailer registration when you:
- move interstate
- buy a new vehicle that isn’t registered
- buy an unregistered used vehicle
- have registration that is expired.
To register your vehicle, bring proof of identity, a current safety certificate, and proof of ownership. All vehicle owners must have a current safety certificate (roadworthy certificate) to register a vehicle in Queensland. The good news is that we’re an accredited inspector and can provide this certificate on the spot if your car is up to standard.
Roadworthy certificates (safety certificates)
Our accredited inspectors provide an independent roadworthy certificate service.
That means you get honest advice about any repairs that need to be completed before we provide your certificate. We don’t have any partnerships with mechanics or repair shops, so you know our only goal is to make your car safe and roadworthy.
Your inspection is completed by our qualified safety inspectors. We check your tyres and brakes, steering, suspension system, windscreen and wipers, any damage to the body of the car, and lights. Book your appointment today!
Change of ownership
Need to change the ownership of a vehicle? We make it fast and hassle-free.
Whether you’re buying or selling a car or trailer, we handle all the paperwork. Bring proof of identity and the current registration, and we’ll make sure the new owner is registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
New licence plates
We supply standard and personalised licence plates for cars and trailers.
As an authorised provider, we’ll get your new plates organised and ready to drive legally with minimal wait times. Is the vehicle is registered under two names? Either person can organise new standard plates, but both will need to sign if you are choosing personalised or custom.
Rideshare Certificate of Inspection (COI)
Whether you’re starting out as a rideshare driver or renewing your COI, Vehicle Testing Queensland is an approved inspection station.
Book your annual inspection online to make sure your vehicle meets the minimum safety standards and that you’re driving legally. We make it stress-free to get your COI organised on time.
