Yes. VTQ is a TMR Approved Inspection Station authorised to carry out vehicle inspections and issue Queensland safety certificates.

Not at all. Most inspections are completed in around 15 minutes. You’re welcome to wait in our air-conditioned waiting area or return later if that’s more convenient.

Yes. A family member, friend or colleague can attend on your behalf if required.

Unlike many providers, VTQ does not operate a repair workshop. This means our inspections are completely independent, allowing us to provide honest and unbiased assessments without any pressure to carry out repairs.

Roadworthy Certificate FAQs

We inspect key safety components including tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, lights, seatbelts, windscreen and wipers to ensure the vehicle meets Queensland’s minimum safety standards.

Many modified vehicles can still pass a roadworthy inspection, provided the modifications comply with Queensland regulations and do not affect the vehicle’s safety. Common modifications involving suspension, wheels, lighting, engine performance or body alterations may require additional consideration. If you’re unsure whether your modifications comply, we recommend contacting our team before booking so we can provide guidance based on your specific vehicle.

Yes. The inspection fee covers the time and assessment completed by our qualified inspectors regardless of the outcome.

If your vehicle does not meet the required safety standards, we’ll provide a clear explanation of the items that need attention. You’ll receive details about the defects identified and what must be repaired or corrected before a certificate can be issued. Because VTQ is an independent inspection provider and does not perform repairs, you can be confident that our advice is unbiased and focused solely on compliance and safety.
